At TERN Group, we celebrate every candidate's unique journey towards a rewarding international healthcare career. Mr. Vipul Thavarayil, hailing from Kerala, India, marks a milestone as TERN's first Allied Health Professional (AHP) placed in the UK as a therapeutic radiographer. Now thriving at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, Vipul's story showcases how TERN's AI-enabled platform and human-led support open doors to NHS radiographer jobs.
Vipul's journey began with a WhatsApp message from a colleague sharing a TERN job notification for UK radiographer opportunities. "As soon as I saw the notification, I applied. All they asked for was my CV and qualifications, which I had ready," Vipul recalls. This streamlined application process is a hallmark of TERN's tech-enabled recruitment platform, designed to make international healthcare careers accessible without overwhelming candidates.
From the outset, TERN's team provided end-to-end guidance. Mrs. Shazin contacted Vipul to initiate the process, followed by a call from the Healthcare Fulfillment and Partnerships Lead, Dr. Hisham, who outlined the recruitment steps. "He asked me to create a three-minute video about my experience. Then, I had a friendly screening call with Mr. Krishna, COO and Co-founder of TERN" Vipul shares. This personalized approach ensured Vipul felt supported and confident.
TERN's team assisted with document verification, medical requirements (like the Hepatitis B vaccination, scarce in parts of India), and interview preparation. "Even during the waiting period, Dr. Hisham and Shazin were always available. A Zoom call with Mr. Kurt from the UK team was incredibly reassuring," Vipul adds.
Vipul aced two interviews with University Hospital Southampton, thanks to TERN's real-time feedback and preparation support. "The team kept me updated with feedback, which boosted my confidence. Dr. Hisham was always available for any doubts," he says. This hands-on guidance is why TERN stands out in helping candidates secure NHS radiographer jobs.
On February 3, Vipul arrived in the UK and began his role as a therapeutic radiographer with the NHS, one of the world's most respected healthcare systems. "Anyone applying to the UK knows how tough platforms like TRAC can be. TERN made it smooth and stress-free," he says. Today, Vipul thrives in a role that matches his skills and aspirations, contributing to patient care at a major teaching hospital.
Vipul's success highlights TERN's mission to empower Allied Health Professionals through a seamless, transparent recruitment process. Unlike traditional agencies, TERN combines AI-driven efficiency with human-led support, ensuring candidates are never left in the dark. Since 2023, TERN has placed over 500 healthcare professionals in global roles, with a 95% success rate for NHS placements.
