International Day of Care 2025: TERN's contribution to a global future of care

On International Nurses Day 2025, the focus worldwide will be on the heart of every healthcare system: nurses. This year's motto of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) is: "Our nurses. Our future. Strengthening nursing strengthens the economy." It highlights how crucial the role of nurses is for stable healthcare systems and economic progress.

TERN honors this day by enabling professionals from India, Morocco, Jordan and Kazakhstan to shape their professional future in Germany's excellent healthcare system.

Why the International Day of Care is so important

May 12 commemorates the birth of Florence Nightingale - pioneer of modern nursing. This day is a global recognition of the dedication, expertise and compassion of nurses who do outstanding work every day in hospitals, care facilities and communities.

The 2025 motto emphasizes that investing in good working conditions, mental health and career prospects for nurses creates stable healthcare systems in the long term and strengthens the economy. The recently published WHO report "State of the World's Nursing 2025" warns of a global shortage of millions of nurses by 2030 - unless decisive countermeasures are taken.

This is where TERN comes in: With a clear promise of fair conditions, excellent preparation and individual support, we accompany international nursing professionals on their way to Germany - and thus make a real contribution to global healthcare.

TERN Talent Tour & TERN Talent Match: Ethical recruitment rethought

With the TERN Talent Tour and the TERN Talent Match, we are setting new standards in the recruitment of international nursing professionals. Between February and March 2025, we personally invited nurses from countries including India, Morocco, Jordan and Kazakhstan to Frankfurt and Düsseldorf for job interviews, workshops and networking meetings.

At the same time, representatives from German clinics traveled to India to meet potential nurses on site - on an equal footing and in compliance with the highest ethical standards.

What sets TERN apart:

  • Global career opportunities: Direct placement at leading German healthcare facilities - with state-of-the-art technology, secure working conditions and development prospects.

  • Comprehensive support: language courses, intercultural preparation and soft skills training - financed by TERN and individually tailored.

  • Certified fairness: We have been awarded the RAL quality mark for fair recruitment in the care sector for our fair and ethical processes.

Our goal: suitable matching, sustainable integration and long-term retention.

Challenges in care - and how TERN provides support

Nurses worldwide are under high pressure: according to the ICN, 40% of them feel burnt out. The reasons are well known:

  • Overload & staff shortage

  • Limited career opportunities

  • Cultural and language barriers

TERN meets these challenges with a well thought-out overall concept. Asha from India, a participant in the TERN Talent Tour 2025, reports:
"Thanks to TERN, my start in Germany was structured and human. I feel seen - and have the feeling that I am really making a difference."

Our commitment to the International Day of Care

TERN celebrates this day not only with words - but with deeds:

  • Telling success stories: On LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, we introduce caregivers like Asha. They show that Integration is possible - and starts with a fair start.

  • Advocating transparent framework conditions: We support initiatives that promote fair pay, safe working conditions and further development.

  • Shaping the future: With webinars and information events, we motivate nursing professionals worldwide to go their own way with TERN - transparently and self-determined.

Use the day to express your appreciation - on social media with #NursesDay2025 and @TERNGroup.

Why strengthening care means strengthening the economy

Investing in care benefits more than the healthcare system. Studies show: Every euro invested in care brings multiple social and economic benefits.

TERN creates this link: the nurses we place earn fair salaries in Germany (on average €40,000-50,000 per year), enjoy social security and professional development - and at the same time contribute to the economic stability of their countries of origin, e.g. through financial support or knowledge transfer.

How you can support care professionals

The International Day of Care is a call to action - to politics, society and business. Your contribution can make a big difference:

  • Saying thank you: Personal appreciation motivates - and shows that care counts.

  • Improve the framework conditions: Support initiatives for more fairness, security and prospects in the care sector.

  • Become part of the TERN mission: Are you looking for specialists yourself? Then get to know us at www.tern-group.com and get in touch.

  • Share our vision: spread the word with #InternationalNurseDay2025 and #TERN.

‍Alook into the future

The care sector is facing global challenges - and TERN is ready to shape solutions. Millions of additional nursing professionals will be needed by 2030. Our approach: fair placement, transparent processes and genuine integration.

Imagine a world in which every nurse receives the recognition, security and prospects they deserve. TERN brings us a little closer to this goal every day - together with you.

TERN says THANK YOU.

On International Nursing Day, we are not just celebrating a profession - we are celebrating commitment, courage and humanity. Let's shape the future of care together.

TERN - For care that lasts.
